How it's priced

Each part is priced on the steel it's cut from (its overall rectangle), the length of every cut, and each pierce, with shipping built in. Orders under $50 are charged $50.

What we can price online

One part per DXF (how to prepare one), closed outlines, ASCII DXF up to 2 MB, up to 100 of a part, parts up to 30 lb and 6' long (longer from $1,000), and orders up to 150 lb. Anything else, such as several parts in a file, open lines, or holes smaller than the steel is thick, goes to our office for a price, usually the same day.

Production runs and more

Repeat parts by the hundred or thousand, 1/2" and thicker plate, stainless, aluminum, bending, deburring, or powder coat? Send us your drawings and annual usage or call (325) 400-1213.

How ordering online works

  1. Upload a DXF for each part. Choose the steel, whether it is drawn in inches or millimeters, and how many you need.
  2. Check the drawing and the price. We draw each part back to you with its overall size and holes dimensioned in your units, so a drawing in the wrong units shows before you pay.
  3. Pay at checkout. Card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay on Stripe's secure page.
  4. We cut and ship it. Your order goes straight into our production queue, cut on our 6 kW fiber laser in Santa Anna, Texas, and ships in about 14 business days.

Online laser cutting questions

How is my laser cutting price worked out?

From four things: the steel in the rectangle around your part, every inch the laser cuts, each pierce (one for the outline and one for every hole or cutout), and shipping by the part's weight. A part with many holes costs more to cut than a plain one of the same size, and the price on the page is the price you pay.

What files can I upload?

An ASCII DXF, one part to a file, up to 2 MB. If your drawing is a DWG, STEP, or PDF, send it for a quote and we price it in the office, usually the same day. Our DXF guide shows how to export one that prices online.

My drawing is in millimeters. Is that a problem?

No. Choose millimeters when you upload, and the part is drawn back to you dimensioned in millimeters. If the file says which units it uses, we tell you, so a part drawn at the wrong scale is caught before you pay.

What steel can I order online?

Carbon steel in 11 gauge (A1011 CS-B), 3/16", 1/4", and 3/8" (A36). For 1/2" to 1" plate, stainless, aluminum, brass, or copper, send your drawings and we quote them.

How accurate are the parts?

We hold ±0.005" as standard on parts 12" and under, and we measure parts against your drawing as they are cut. Our quality page shows our tolerances and our live on-time and yield figures.

How long does it take, and what does shipping cost?

Most orders ship in about 14 business days. Shipping is free anywhere in the lower 48 states. Parts over 6' long and orders over 150 lb go by freight, and we quote those.

Is there a minimum order?

A project under $50 is charged $50. Put several parts in one project to make the most of it.

Do you cut production quantities?

Yes. For more than 100 of a part, send us the project with your annual usage, and we price the run ourselves, often for less than the online price. Repeat production parts are much of what we cut.
